Noah Syndergaard reveals the big reason he signed with the Angels (besides the money)

Noah Syndergaard believes he can win a World Series ring for Mike Trout as a member of the Los Angeles Angels.

While Noah Syndergaard had long been a starting pitcher for the New York Mets, the dominant right-hander explained why he joined the Los Angeles Angels in his free agency: He wants to win a World Series ring playing with one of the game’s preeminent superstars in outfielder Mike Trout.

Though injuries have limited Syndergaard to only two appearances over the last two seasons, he is not yet 30-years-old. The former NL All-Star has plenty of high-quality ball left in the tank. While the Angels have not done a ton of winning during his professional career, Syndergaard believes he can be a reason why the Halos can change their fortunes with him now on the roster.

Los Angeles not only has a superstar in the outfield in Trout, but the reigning AL MVP in starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani as well.

Though Trout has long been one of the best players in baseball, he has done so rather anonymously for the Angels. Despite playing in the second biggest media market in the country, the Angels have rarely sniffed the postseason since Trout entered his prime nearly a decade ago. With Ohtani in his prime as well, it seems to be now or never for Joe Maddon’s team to get it done.

While the middle of the pack in the AL West is in flux, the Houston Astros are still the team to beat the division. With the Seattle Mariners making great strides a season ago, Los Angeles will need to come out guns a-blazing if they want to make noise in what looks to be deep divisional race. Syndergaard may want to win a World Series with the Halos, but it may only be wishful thinking.

If Syndergaard can be an answered prayer to their pitching woes, then that will be a step in the right direction for them as an organization.
