Watch: Cubs dugout celebrates with Seiya Suzuki after first MLB home run

With an exciting, 3-run home run against the Milwaukee Brewers, Seiya Suzuki officially has his first MLB home run with the Chicago Cubs.

Seiya Suzuki is officially a MLB home run hitter. The slugger, who recently signed with the Chicago Cubs and made his way to Chicago after a thrilling Nippon Professional Baseball career with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, hit one heck of a home run for the Cubs early in the game Sunday afternoon.

In fact, the home run, one of the three-run variety, came in the first inning for the Cubs against the Milwaukee Brewers. Suzuki absolutely crushed it, launching the ball right into the stands for Chicago fans to celebrate joyously.

It’s one heck of a home run!

An added bonus with this home run is the nice, straightforward bat flip from Suzuki. Just an all around great situation for the Cubs with this moment.

And of course, the home run definitely excited Suzuki’s teammates.

It’s great to see Suzuki embraced by his Cubs teammates, the fans, and the city of Chicago. It’ll be great to see if he can continue hitting home runs like this. He may not be enough to simply get the Cubs back on track as a contender, but maybe Suzuki can be a part of a quick turnaround and fast rebuild for Chicago.

So far, Suzuki is off to a really good start.

Sure, it’s super early and there’s no way anyone can realistically read into things with the incredibly small sample size, but Cubs fans should be excited about Suzuki having a .375 batting average and this impressive home run after the Cubs’ first few games.
