Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuña hit his first home run of the 2022 season, and he did so while falling down.
Ronald Acuña made his 2022 debut for the Atlanta Braves on Apr. 28 after he tore his ACL last July. It only took his seventh game to hit his first home run of the season, and he did so in style.
In the bottom of the fourth inning against the Milwaukee Brewers on May 6, the Braves outfielder sent a 77.6 mph curveball by pitcher Eric Lauer to the right center field stands of Truist Park to cut Atlanta’s deficit to 2-1.
Not only did Acuña hit his first home run of the season, but he did so while falling to the ground!

Braves: Ronald Acuna hits first HR of year while falling
An Acuña home run in 2022 was bound to happen, and it did against the Brewers.
Acuña had torn his ACL during a game against the Miami Marlins, where he had to leave the field on a cart. After being ruled out for the remainder of the season, the Braves made moves for outfielders to help replace his production. They brought in Eddie Rosario, who won NLCS MVP and Jorge Soler, the eventual 2021 World Series MVP.
Entering Friday night’s game, the outfielder was slashing .200/.286/.240 while recording two RBI and five hits.
Acuña got his first home run of the year, and he gets some extra style points for it.
