Joc Pederson gives masterclass in how to get thrown out stealing a base [Video]

Joc Pederson has just given us one of the worst stolen base attempts in the history of MLB.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson put forth a masterclass on getting thrown out trying to steal a bag.

On an 0-2 pitch down 1-0 to the St. Louis Cardinals in the top of the fifth with runners on the corners, Pederson went full-blown Leeroy Jenkins trying to steal second base off future hall of famer Yadier Molina. With more regret in his eyes than a Hollywood train wreck, Pederson bolted back to first base because he is that motherf****r. The Giants would go on to lose the Saturday afternoon game to the Redbirds, 4-0. Had Pederson not gotten thrown out, maybe they score?

The only reason he had to have ran back to the first base bag was because he forgot his pearls.

Milk might have been a bad choice, but nothing was worse than when Ron Burgundy jumped into that San Diego Zoo bear pit to save Veronica Corningstone from certain death. This is what happens when there are no Baxters or Brick Tamlands to save your hide or Wes Mantooths who hate you, but damn, do they respect you. Did Gabe Kapler make Pederson ride pine after this?

Besides leaving his pearls on the first base bag, the only other logical reason behind this stolen base catastrophe is if Pederson is in cahoots with Molina winning yet another Golden Glove as he exits stage left into retirement. Baseball is not as rigged as NBA playoff games, but this is a new and creative way to have some skin in the game inside of a game in which a player is playing in.

Ultimately, we can all learn a lesson from this. The biggest takeaway from the cinematic classic known as Forrest Gump is you run, dammit! He ran from bullies, SEC special teams units, frightening things in Vietnam and he only stoped running when he wanted to go home! Isn’t that the ultimate goal of baseball? To go home!
