MLB broadcaster has totally inappropriate nickname for Nestor Cortes

MLB broadcaster Jim Kaat unveiled his nickname for New York Yankees pitcher Nestor Cortes and, it was pretty inappropriate.

The New York Yankees hold the best record in the American League as of June 2. Not only have the bats been producing, but the pitching staff has been great thus far. Perhaps their best pitcher in the starting rotation is Nestor Cortes, who holds a 1.50 ERA after his start on Thursday against the Los Angeles Angels.

On that same day, MLB broadcaster and former pitcher Jim Kaat decided to unveil his nickname for Cortes during the Minnesota Twins-Detroit Tigers game. The nickname? Well, it’s a tad inappropriate, so we’ll let Kaat unveil it himself in the tweet below:

Nestor Cortes gets inappropriate nickname by MLB broadcaster

This is not the first time that Kaat had said something inappropriate. Just last season, the broadcaster said he could”get a 40-acre field full of them” in reference to third baseman Yoan Moncada during a Chicago White Sox-Houston Astros game.

Cortes is coming off of another great start for the Yankees. Facing the Angels, the left-handed pitcher struck out seven batters and allowed just five hits in seven scoreless innings. The Yankees went on to win the game 6-1.

As mentioned earlier, Cortes has a 1.50 ERA. Additionally, he posted a 0.87 WHIP, a 5-1 win-loss record, 68 strikeouts and 14 walks through 60.0 innings (10 starts).

Cortes has been phenomenal for the Yankees this season. As for Kaat’s ability of giving players nickname, that is the opposite of phenomenal. It’s bad.
