Athletics vs. Orioles prediction and odds for Thursday, April 13 (A matinee mashing)

The Oakland Athletics and Baltimore Orioles will wrap up a four-game series on Thursday afternoon.

There are only seven games to watch and bet on Thursday, so let’s take full advantage. This American League showdown is set to begin at 1:05pm, so let’s get an early start to our weekend started off with an afternoon bet.

There’s no reason to overthink this one. Take the OVER and let’s root for some dingers.

We’ll take a peak at the odds and then I’ll breakdown why the OVER is the bet to make.

Athletics vs. Orioles odds, run line, and total

Athletics vs. Orioles prediction and pick

The Baltimore offense has been on fire to start the MLB season, ranking inside the top six in both OPS and runs scored per game this season.

Unfortunately, we can’t trust the Orioles to win on offense along on Thursday. They’ll give the ball to Cole Irvin to start the game, which could be bad news for Baltimore backers but good news for us OVER bettors.

Irvin has allowed nine earned runs in 8.2 innings pitched so far this season, while also sporting a 2.077 WHIP.

It’s also worth noting that we could see some runs late in the game between these two teams. The Athletics boast one of the worst bullpen ERAs, coming in at 5.79. The Orioles bullpen is around middle of the pack, so don’t discount some potential runs by the A’s late in the game as well.

It’s a matinee matchup on a Thursday afternoon. Let’s just root for some runs.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
