Yankees vs. Rangers prediction and odds for Saturday, April 29 (Value on total)

The New York Yankees have been struggling, but they’re looking to bounce back on Saturday in Texas against the Texas Rangers.

Texas is in first place in the AL West coming into this game and beat New York 5-2 on Friday night.

Nathan Eovaldi (2-2, 5.20 ERA) is on the mound for the Rangers in this game against Yankees rookie Jhony Brito (2-2, 6.11 ERA).

Just based on those ERAs, it seems like we could be in for some offensive fireworks on Saturday night. Here’s a look at the latest odds and a best bet for this game:

Yankees vs. Rangers odds, run line and total

Yankees vs. Rangers prediction and pick

Brito has struggled against the Minnesota Twins exclusively this season, allowing 10 runs in 3.1 innings across two starts. In his other three starts? He’s allowed just two runs in 14.1 innings of work.

Still, the Yankees rookie has not been good this season.

He ranks in the 10th percentile in expected ERA and in the bottom 20 percentile in MLB in barrel percentage, expecting batting average and slugging percentage against, whiff percentage, walk percentage and strikeout percentage.

Not exactly an encouraging profile if you’re a Yankees fan.

Meanwhile Eovaldi has struggled in his first season with the Rangers, allowing at least two runs in each of his starts.

His Fielding Independent Pitching (2.23) suggests that he’s been a little unlucky, but the Rangers starter has allowed 34 hits in 27.2 innings this season.

The Yankees offense has been struggling, but I think the team can put together a few runs against Eovaldi to push this game over the total.
