Braves: How Max Fried and his opponent will make history on Friday

Atlanta Braves pitcher Max Fried will make some minor MLB history on Friday night, as well as Orioles pitcher Dean Kremer.

When the Braves take on the Orioles Friday night, both teams win. The matchup between Max Fried and Dean Kremer is expected to be a good one.

It’s also the first time two Jewish pitchers have faced off against one another in decades. In fact, the last time was all the way back in 1977. Yeah, it’s been that long.

Fried doesn’t exactly hide his faith, but this little-known baseball factoid is sure to mean a lot to a the Jewish people as a whole. It’s another reminder the baseball is, in fact, for everyone.

Braves: Max Fried and Dean Kremer make MLB history

As for the matchup itself, Fried and the Braves are favored for a reason. Fried is one of the best pitchers in all of baseball, and he’s one season away from a contract year. As much as Atlanta wants to keep him around it’ll come at an expensive price point. Alex Anthopoulos knows this, hence the tense negotiations.

Kremer is coming off his best big-league season, in which he put up a 3.23 ERA in 21 starts. He hasn’t backed up those numbers so far this year, however, as Kremer has a 6.67 ERA in six starts. It’s a long season, however, and Kremer can reverse his fortunes with a positive outing against one of the best lineups in all of baseball.

Atlanta is one of the best teams in all of baseball, period, but don’t sleep on these Orioles. Baltimore is thriving in one of the better divisions in MLB, the AL East, where every team is above .500.

Somehow, the O’s have been able to separate themselves amidst of group of goliaths, led be the Tampa Bay Rays.

This should be one entertaining series.
